Are marketers tracking phone calls properly?
I’ve noticed that many marketing teams track almost everything — clicks, impressions, form submissions, conversions — but phone calls often get reduced to a simple number.
For example:
500 calls received
But what does that actually tell you?
Which campaign generated those calls? Which calls were qualified? Which ones resulted in a sale? And how much revenue came from them?
For businesses where phone calls are an important source of leads, I think this missing data can make campaign optimization much harder.
Call attribution tools such as CallAtlas are designed to connect phone calls with marketing sources, campaign performance, lead quality, and conversions.
Curious to hear from other marketers:
Do you currently track the source and outcome of your inbound calls, or do you mainly track the total number of calls?
